Morristown living room
A family living room in Morristown, New Jersey: a generous 12-foot vintage-style rug, a brick fireplace, and an open sightline to the billiards room, but no seating. The brief was a deep, low-profile sectional that spans the rug without blocking the fireplace or the flow of the room.

The concepts below were generated from the client's own room photos and West Elm's Harmony modular sectional in Performance Distressed Velvet, rendered at its published 139-inch width against the rug's known dimensions. Multiple room angles feed each render so the scale is right before anything is ordered.

The fit check
Before ordering, every placement is verified against the manufacturer's full dimension sheet, per-piece widths, seat and arm heights, and diagonal depths, and the piece can be previewed in the room at true scale in augmented reality using the manufacturer's official 3D model.
The chosen design was executed as two modular pieces, ordered through our Williams-Sonoma trade program and scheduled for white-glove, in-home delivery, split so the sofa arrives weeks ahead of the made-to-order chaise:

Warm Minimalist Apartment
A rental-friendly scheme built on one anchor piece: a deep modular sofa in a warm neutral. Everything else stays quiet, walnut, honed stone, black metal, so the room feels finished without feeling furnished-to-the-brim. The palette holds warmth through texture rather than color.

Japandi Bedroom
Japandi lives or dies on restraint: a bed low enough to lengthen the wall, plaster texture instead of art clutter, and exactly two metals. Brass sconces free the nightstands, and the shoji-filtered light does the decorating for most of the day.

Modern Organic Living Room
Curves against stone: the boucle sofa supplies the softness, travertine supplies the weight, and the olive tree breaks the symmetry so the room reads collected rather than staged. Clay plaster walls keep the light warm at every hour.

Mountain Ski House Great Room
Alpine light is cold and enormous, so the furniture does the warming: charcoal wool, saddle leather, and a live-edge slab hold their own against the stone chimney. Layered rugs break up the plank floor without hiding it, and every piece is heavy enough that the vaulted ceiling doesn't swallow the room.
